Kawaii Riot at Sea of Serenity

Panel: Voices in the Kawaii Riot

The Kawaii Riot Team will be introducing the Kawaii Riot Project in its debut panel at Sea of Serenity!

About Sea of Serenity

“Welcome to Sea of Serenity, our September 4-7, 2020 online J-fashion event! This time we’re partnering with J-fashion on Demand to bring you an even better experience than Ursa Major! Mark your calendars so you can start planning your coordinates, panel ideas, and get excited for those special brand releases! We have our tentative schedule ready for you, and will begin filling it out as we finalize our participating panelists and brands. What are the themes and inspiration for Sea of Serenity? Soothing, calming waves combined with a sunset by the sea that encapsulates the transition from summer to fall. The Sea of Serenity is the name of a lunar mare, and for you anime fans it is the supposed location of a certain moon princess’s kingdom. If you want to dress “on theme” for this event (although there is no pressure to do so!) you might choose to focus on the sea with mermaids, sailor outfits, pirates, sea life, etc. or maybe on the lunar aspect with moon phases, night skies, other space themes, or best of all, focus on the serene and find the outfit that makes you the most at peace. Cheers!”

More About the Panel

Advocacy directors will spend time sharing the importance of conversations, education, and accessibility for activism in the community. The team will show how advocacy and alternative fashion unite and what advocacy means for them. Our panelists will review some of the points they wish had more platforms in the community, discussions, and how social change is essential for the community to take part in. It’s time to start a riot.
